If you have a player that past away, you can mark them as deceased.
Go to Menu > Manage > Players/Teams > Teams.
Select the team this player used to play on.
Select his name on the Roster List on the right hand side: Selected Team's Players.
Click on the Pencil.
Change his status to Deceased.
